Breast augmentation or cleavage design is one of the most frequently performed procedures.

Time passes without waiting for anyone and along with the passing of time, trends change and life situations change.

Maybe in our youth we loved to wear stilettos and maybe now we prefer to wear low heels. The same goes for breast design. Maybe in our youth we wanted breasts whose presence would not go unnoticed and now we prefer nice discreet breasts. Or maybe we simply feel that we no longer need the implants since we have enjoyed the years with them but instead of changing them for new ones we prefer a breast readjustment without placing new implants.

Maybe we have felt fatigue, weakness, headaches or we do not feel 100% and despite investigating different causes that could explain it, we do not find the cause and it does not improve our feeling. No one is born with silicone implants in their body and there is a possibility that we may be intolerant or develop a type of allergy to the implants. In some people when removing the implants there is improvement or disappearance of these symptoms. This entity that is not totally well understood is called BII or Breast Implant Illness.

Many times we wonder what will happen when implants are implants are removed. Very often the breast will have to be readjusted. It is similar to a dress that used to fit well but we have lost several pounds. Surely the dress will not fit the same, it will be a little loose, and we will have to reduce the size of the dress so that it will fit again. There are two possibilities depending on the individual case and desires of each patient: the first is to remove the implant and after 4 to 6 months adjust the breast. The advantages of this procedure are that it is safer and allows a more accurate result. The other possibility is to remove the implant and adjust the breast during the same procedure. As it is a much more complex procedure, it has a little more risk and a slightly longer recovery time, and it may not achieve the same accuracy when adjusting the breast.

Return to daily activities is quick, in about 1 to 2 weeks. Pain is not severe and usually resolves during the first week post-surgery. It is performed under deep sedation controlled by an anesthesiologist and the duration of the procedure can vary from 45 minutes if only the implant is removed to 3-5 hours if a simultaneous breast readjustment is performed. The risks are uncommon and vary depending on whether or not a breast lift is performed. The risks of a breast readjustment or breast lift are irregularities in the contour of the breast, visible scarring, presence of seromas that correspond to a pocket of inflammatory fluid trapped inside the body that must be drained to avoid contour irregularities, alterations in sensitivity and loss of breastfeeding function. The most feared but rare risk is a partial or total loss of the areola and nipple.

After the second week, physical activity is resumed with certain restrictions that are lifted one month after surgery.

The price range starts at 2850 USD, which corresponds to consultations before and after the procedure, the use of the operating room and supplies during the procedure, surgical and anesthetic equipment fees, as well as medications during recovery and will be defined by the treatment plan suggested by your plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgeon.
